Charlestown cultural district

This district encompasses the downtown Ryan Street corridor and Lakeshore Drive (from the I-10 bridge to Bord du Lac Dr) on the western borders, to portions of Louisiana Ave and Kirkman St on the east.

Destinations within this district include 1911 Historic City Hall, Calcasieu Marine National Bank, Central School Arts & Humanities Center, the Historic Charpentier District of homes, and the Lake Charles Civic Center.

Arts Council of SWLA events within the Charlestown Cultural District include the Central School Holiday Art Market, Live at the Lakefront, and Spring Art Walk.

Cottage Shop cultural district

This smaller walking district in midtown Lake Charles is known for its unique shops that offer regional art and cultural items.

Nellie Lutcher cultural district

The namesake for this newest district is a celebrated historical figure for Lake Charles, and the region is home to important sites like the ACTS Theatre and Goldband Records. Consisting of Enterprise Blvd north of Broad St and Railroad Ave, the district already boasts destinations like the Cash & Carry event center, Pryce’s Pharmacy, and the Lake Charles Little Theatre.
