Purpose
Louisiana Project Grants are administered jointly by the Louisiana Division of the Arts (LDOA) and the SWLA Regional Arts Council. This program provides a system for funding arts projects in all regions of the state by giving artists, nonprofit arts organizations, nonprofit organizations, public and private schools, school boards, colleges and universities, and local government agencies in each region the opportunity to develop arts projects that meet their local needs. The purpose of the program is to cultivate innovative arts projects that have a lasting impact within each region of our state.
Who is eligible to apply?
All applicants must be domiciled in Beauregard, Allen, Jeff Davis, Calcasieu or Cameron parishes. The official domicile is the organization’s official address registered with the Louisiana Secretary of State and located in the parish indicated on the Certificate of Incorporation. All nonprofit organizations must be in good standing with the Louisiana Secretary of State and Louisiana Legislative Auditor to be considered eligible.

Who is Eligible to apply?
All applicants must be domiciled within the Southwest Louisiana Region. Parishes included are Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron & Jeff Davis.
What type of grant is available?
Eligible organizations may apply for one project assistance grant for a specific arts project. Applicants may submit one request of a minimum of $2,500 and not to exceed $5,000 per year.
How are funding decisions made?
After the June 30, 2024, deadline, the Arts Council determines that the applicant and the proposal are eligible for funding, and that the application complies with grant guidelines. A grant panel will meet in August to review all applications. Panel recommendations will then be submitted to the Arts Council board of directors for final approval.

May 1, 2023 – Applications and Guidelines become available online.
June 30, 2023 – Grant Applications due via email by 5 pm.
July 22, 2023 – Grant Panel Review Session at 10 am at Central School (subject to change).
October 1, 2023 – Grant Activity Period Begins.
September 30, 2024 – Grant Activity Ends.
October 31, 2024 – Final reports are due in submittable by midnight.
