This annual grant provides a system for funding arts and cultural projects in Calcasieu Parish. As applicants compete only with other organizations in the parish, decisions about cultural priorities are made locally.
The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury disburses funds to the Arts & Humanities Council, which in turn re-grants those dollars to non-profit organizations, organizations or individuals with fiscal agents, or schools in Calcasieu Parish for specific arts and culture projects.

When you are filling in your forms, PLEASE pay attention and DO NOT allow anything to shift to the next page. EVERYTHING on each page MUST remain on that page. The Arts & Humanities Council reserves the right to refuse all applications, along with their copies, should these directions not be followed (which means you would have to go back and redo your application and make new copies.) Please be very observant!!! ALSO, please use the Grantee Checklist to make sure you have ALL required documents BEFORE you turn in your Grant Application. We do not want to have to disqualify any applications due to missing documents.

March 3, 2023:
Application and guidelines become available online.
April 12, 2023 (extended from March 24, 2023):
Applications due via email to Executive Director Shawna Batchelor at [email protected] by 5 p.m.
May 6, 2023:
Grant panel review session at 9am.
May 1, 2023 (extended from April 1):
Grant activity period begins.
April 30, 2024 (extended from March 31):
Grant activity period ends.
June 1, 2024 (extended from April 30, 2024):
ALL Final Reports are due 30 days after project ends or by June 1, 2024; whichever comes first.
